inital consultation...
As a new client you will begin with a thorough initial
consultation. This takes about an hour, at your home
or your office. Everything can be done sitting at a
desk or table. You will find out your blood pressure,
resting heart rate and body fat composition. These readings
set an important baseline for me to measure your progress.
We will discuss your exercise history, and I will ask
you to complete a medical questionnaire. All information
is treated in the strictest confidence. If necessary,
I will recommend that you see your GP before starting
your exercise programme. We will discuss your nutrition,
and I will make initial recommendations. From the outset
I will start recommending positive changes to your eating
habits and activity levels.
Every personal trainer in London will give you an
initial consultation, but some are more thorough than
others. The quality of your initial consultation will
help determine whether you've found the right personal
trainer for you.
A key element of your initial consultation is a
discussion about your aspirations and objectives. You may want to lose
weight, tone up, build muscle, change your shape, get
fitter, break eating and smoking habits, or a whole
combination of these. You may even have a deadline in
mind, such as a wedding, a summer holiday, a sporting
event, or any event where you need to be fit.

Thinking
Think carefully what your specific goals are and when
you want to achieve them. You are more likely to achieve
goals that are specific, measurable, realistic and with
a deadline.Think about your short term goals AND long
term goals. Think deeply about why you want to achieve
your particular goals, as this will trigger an emotional
response which will motivate and energise you. A burning
desire to achieve a goal is a key ingredient of success.
